Body.scratch Academy

Body.scratch is the method that empowers digital natives to bodily engage, play & create games, animations and art by learning basics of programming through dance / movement .

Choreographers work in a similar way programmers do, arranging blocks of information to create. In our workshops, learners match dance moves with programming actions to create games. They develop their creative, motoric, collaborative, problem-solving & socio-cultural abilities.

4 formats (in English, Dutch or French) we can tailor to learners needs:

• Discovery (online) – € 250 – 1h30 with 10-30 learners that will explore how to learn programming creatively and gain insight into its relationship to real life situations. Students will also learn about each other’s culture through dance and programming.

• Bootcamps (online+onsite) – € 1200 – 3 half days in a week, with 3 groups, to learn all the fundamentals of Body.scratch and create body.codes together — stories, games, animations — based on the group’s curiosity.

• Weekly Challenges (online) – € 3/learner – 3 half days in a week, with 3 groups, to learn all the fundamentals of Body.scratch and create body.codes together — stories, games, animations — based on the group’s curiosity.

• Educator Trainings (online+onsite) – price upon request – 4 weeks to :

1. get the basics of computer science concepts, making the word “coding” or “programming” less impressive;
2. Get comfortable in your body by practicing the Body.scratch fundamentals, making “dance” a second nature;
3. Foster an autonomous learning environment by enabling learners to give clear Body.scratch challenges to other classmates.

No programming or dancing experience is required. As a teacher or teacher you facilitate the space, you document the learning process for feedback sessions.
